Microsoft is working on windows 8.1 which will launch later this year. Microsoft has already provided a preview version of windows 8.1 officially for user experience. Windows 8.1 is formally known as Windows Blue.
It has a much more features than Windows 8 which gives it a better name in the market. Many others like Ubuntu, Linux, Mac, etc. try to compete with windows. More sizes of icons available to personalize start screen which gives more options to users to make personal start screen for better experience.

2. Lock Screen SlideShow

By this you can make your PC/Tablet a frame screen. You can use a camera and answer Skype calls directly without tickling with a password.

3. Start Screen Colors

Microsoft has provided a more color option for start screen to make user personal windows.

4. Enhanced Apps and Search

A more enhanced and detailed search available directly from windows' start screen.

5. Split screen into 50:50

Windows 8.1 provides splitting screen into 50:50, which helps users to use two apps simultaneously on one screen.
